Hills, long runs, and a round of golf: Dennis in San Francisco

Hi, I’m Dennis. I live in San Francisco, and outside of work I spend most of my time being active, eating well, and exploring new places.
Running is the constant in my week. I head out a few mornings before work and save a long run for the weekend. That routine recently took me somewhere new: I just finished my first ultramarathon, the Redwood Trail Run in the East Bay. Running for hours under the redwoods taught me a lot about pacing, patience, and how much of endurance is mental, and I’m already thinking about what comes next.

I got into road biking after moving to the Bay Area. I’ve never been much for flat rides, so the hills, long climbs and views around here suit me perfectly. There’s something about grinding up a climb and getting rewarded with a view of the Bay that never gets old.
In the winter I ski as often as I can, and the rest of the year I try to fit in a round of golf when there’s time. Golf is the slower counterweight to everything else, and usually the best excuse for a long conversation.
When I’m not moving, I’m probably eating. I love going out for good food and trying new restaurants, both here in San Francisco and wherever I’m traveling. Close to home, Kusakabe is one of my favorites. Finding the local spot that’s worth the trip is one of my favorite parts of visiting a new city, and I’m always happy to trade recommendations.
If you’re in the Bay Area and want to go for a run, a ride, a round of golf, or grab dinner somewhere new, feel free to reach out.
