General research, reasoning and writing, one account at a time.

Claude is Anthropic’s general-purpose assistant. For go-to-market teams it researches companies, drafts outreach and connects to tools such as Salesforce and HubSpot through connectors. Claudeforce brings Salesforce into it, and Claude Marketplace is where vendors list their connectors.

Ranking your whole market from your own deals, the same way every run, with the reason on each account.

Ocean is contextual intelligence for go-to-market. It reads what every company actually does from its own website, learns what good looks like from your closed-won and closed-lost deals, and ranks your whole market against it, with the reason behind each score. The ranked accounts arrive in your CRM, your rep queue or your AI agents.

What’s changing

Anthropic launched Claude Marketplace in September 2026 and opened a portal for builders to submit connectors, so the data source Claude reaches for is becoming a distribution channel. Ocean doesn’t replace the assistant a company buys. It’s the account data layer Claude draws on, through MCP and the API.

How to switch from Claude to Ocean

Five steps. Most teams keep Claude and add Ocean as the market model behind it.

  1. Save your best prompts and lists

Keep the prompts and lists your team uses today, so you can compare the output with Ocean on the same accounts.

  2. Pick a test market

Choose one territory or segment to run through both, and note how many accounts the lists share.

  3. Connect your CRM

Connect HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Attio. Ocean reads your closed-won and closed-lost deals to learn what a good account looks like.

  4. Review the segments and scores

Ocean proposes segments and scores, with the reason on each. Correct anything that doesn’t match how you sell.

  5. Send scored accounts

Scores, segments and matched signals go back to your CRM, or into Apollo, Instantly or Lemlist sequences.

Questions to ask before you rely on Claude for targeting

  • Ask it for every company that looks like your best 20 customers, twice. Do you get the same list?
  • How do you know the list covers your whole market, not just what search returned?
  • Where does it keep your ICP model between conversations?
  • Which connector does it reach for when it needs company data?

How do other Claude alternatives compare to Ocean?

The right alternative depends on what you use Claude for. Here’s what each is built for and where Ocean starts.

Claude and Ocean: common questions

Short answers on what Claude costs, where it stops for targeting, how Ocean compares and how to use them together.

Can Claude build a target account list?

Claude is strong at researching and reasoning about one company. It has no company database of its own, and its answers depend on the prompt and on what web search returns.

How much does Claude cost for a company?

Pro is $20 a month and Team seats are $20 to $100, but companies pay much more. Buyers report a median of $150,000 a year across 114 Anthropic contracts, which include Claude and the API, according to Vendr.

Can I use Ocean inside Claude?

Ocean offers an MCP server and a public API that Claude can use, so its answers can come from a ranked, market-wide account model instead of a web search.

What is Claudeforce?

An expanded Salesforce and Anthropic partnership announced in August 2026. Its first product is a Salesforce plugin for Claude with 37 prebuilt sales skills, in beta.

What is Claude Marketplace?

Anthropic’s directory of plugins and connectors for Claude, launched in September 2026. Builders submit connectors through a portal.

Can Claude cluster my ICP the way Ocean does?

Claude can cluster the attributes you give it, such as industry, headcount and tech stack, and it’s useful for testing an ICP definition. It isn’t built around a vector representation of every company in a market, or a similarity search over them, so it can miss companies that behave like your best customers but look different on the surface. Ocean provides that data layer, and an assistant can use it through Ocean’s MCP server.

How does Ocean find lookalike companies?

Ocean reads what each company does from its own website, learns from your closed-won and closed-lost deals, and returns ranked matches with the reason on each one.

How do I add Ocean to my Claude workflow?

Connect your CRM so Ocean reads your won and lost deals, review the segments and scores it proposes, then let Claude work from the ranked accounts.
